Electronic registered delivery service (ERDS)

Electronic registered delivery (ERDS) is the trust service that proves sending, receipt and integrity online; QERDS adds legal presumptions under eIDAS.

Electronic registered delivery is the trust service that transmits data between parties with evidence of handling: proof of sending and receiving, protection against loss or alteration, and reliable identification of sender and recipient - the digital equivalent of registered mail.

Under eIDAS (Articles 43-44), data sent and received through an electronic registered delivery service cannot be denied legal admissibility or evidential effect merely because it is in electronic form. The qualified variant (QERDS, provided by a QTSP) goes further: it enjoys a rebuttable legal presumption of the integrity of the data, the identity of sender and receiver, and the accuracy of the date and time of sending and receiving indicated by the service.
